Anne “Renee” Brummer, a fun-loving soul, 66, passed away peacefully embraced by the love and care of her family on September 4, 2026.

Renee was born in Newport News, graduated from Tabb High School and lived most of her life in York County. Her career included employment with the Daily Press, Ben Franklin Arts and Crafts, and Goodwill. Renee’s interests included her cats, playing bells at Saint Luke’s Church in York County, beach time, and collecting seashells from the outer banks, crafts of all sorts including Christmas ornaments, woodworking, painting, baking, and dressing in holiday outfits.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Ed Brummer and sister-in-law Marlene. She is survived by her sister Patsy Keener (Richard) and brother Bert Brummer; daughter, Tabitha Kalbrener (Andrew), their two children Hunter and Harper; niece and caretaker extraordinaire, Kari Keener Dame (Bobby) and their two sons Grady and Tucker; nephews, Ben Keener, Zach Keener (Jay), and their daughter Lana; Holly Marshall and her daughter Margo Barnes, along with her best friend since childhood Pattie Gardner and her husband Ivan. She is also survived by her first husband Rob Lockard, who has been of vital assistance to Renee and family in countless ways.

We extend our gratitude to Gloucester House and Walter Reed Hospice for their compassionate care, guidance, and support they provided throughout Renee’s journey.

Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society.
