Archie Robbins

Archie C. Robbins, Jr. (GooGoo), age 83 of Mathews, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Bohannon where he enjoyed his fellowship with many of the members, especially Mr. Johnny Horner. Archie loved to fish, listen to music on his radio, watch western movies, and enjoyed making jewelry for his family and friends. He did not meet a stranger and loved everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie C. Robbins Sr. and Agnes V. Robbins, brothers, John L. Robbins and Larry R. Robbins, special brother-in-law, John W. Lewis, Jr.

He is survived by his sisters, Martha R. Lewis and Mary B. Brooks (David), his brother Sammy Robbins, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Archie is also survived by his caregivers Gil & Sonja Owens of Gloucester, where he resided for the past 8 years. We want to express our appreciation and love for the care they gave while he was with them. Archie and Gil were the best of buddies.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Bohannon, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 5372 East River Road, Bohannon, VA 23021 or Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, 6595 Main Street, Gloucester, VA 23061. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia is assisting the family.
