In Loving Memory of Aubrey Eugene Davis Sr.
5/4/40 - 10/7/25
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Aubrey Eugene Davis Sr. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was received by angels on October 7th, 2025.
Born to Aubrey and Maggie Davis, Eugene was a man of unwavering faith and quiet strength. A devoted Christian, he lived his life in service to others—both through his church and as a dedicated volunteer firefighter for many years. His courage, compassion, and willingness to lend a helping hand left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved parents (Aubrey and Maggie Davis) and four brothers (Melvin, Irvin, James, Elwood), who surely welcomed him with open arms in Heaven. He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years; Shirley Jean Davis, children; Eugene Jr (Mary), Troy (Karen), Dwayne (Rebecca), Steve (Crystal) Lenny (Krissy), grandchildren; Brian (Dee), Olivia (Rikk), Braelyn (Josh), Atlee, Emma, Lindsey (Donald), Eric, great-grandchildren; Luke, Byron, and a host of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He will be remembered as a great man—humble, kind, and steadfast in his faith. During his missionary work, he helped build churches in Central America, Africa and Europe. His legacy of love, service, and integrity will continue to inspire generations to come.
A celebration of Eugene’s life will be held on October 11th, 11am at the Marks-Bristow Chapel in Tappahannock with visitation beginning at 10am. Graveside will be at Rappahannock Christian Church in Dunnsville followed by fellowship of family and friends at Beale Memorial Baptist Church located at 19622 Tidewater Trail, Tappahannock Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tappahannock-Essex Volunteer Fire Department in his honor.
