Betty Lou Carter of Dunnsville, passed away on June 8, 2026. Born January 1, 1941, to the late Ethelbert and Mary Carter. She was a member of Howerton’s Baptist Church.

During her working career, Betty Lou was a receptionist at H. Warshaw Plant in Tappahannock for over 30 years. She loved music and played the piano for various churches, nursing homes and music groups. She had strong faith and loved her church family. She loved to socialize with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her husband, Courtney Harper; brother, Jimmy Carter (Shirley); three step-sons; her nephew, Scott Carter, who was her pride and joy; two nieces and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Howerton’s Baptist Church, Dunnsville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock is assisting the family.
