Charlene devoted 39 years of her life to her career as a real estate broker. She was deeply proud of the business she built and of the success she achieved on her own. Through her hard work, determination, and professionalism, she played an important role in the development of many neighborhoods throughout Gloucester County. Her work left a lasting mark on the community she called home. She was also gifted with a beautiful voice and a love for music. At one time, Charlene had her own band and enjoyed playing the guitar, carrying on a family tradition as she followed in the footsteps of her father, Charles Ward, and her Aunt Judy Ward. Those who knew her will remember not only her strong work ethic, but also the many special memories tied to her musical talent.

Charlene cherished her friends from the Mathews High School Class of 1974 and held those friendships close through the years.

She was predeceased by her loving father, Charles Ward.

Charlene is survived by her loving mother, Shirley Ward of Mathews; her beloved fur baby, Harley, who brought her constant comfort and companionship; and a host of cousins

Charlene was a private person who lived life in her own way. Though her circle was small, she was loved by those who truly knew her. She will be remembered for her independence, her pride in what she accomplished, her love of music, and the special place she held in the hearts of her family and those closest to her.
