Charles Gilmer "Gil" Sclater, 88, of Richmond, Virginia passed away at his home on Monday, May 30, 2022. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fluvanna and Poplar Neck Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Bettye" Edwards Sclater; a daughter, Eva Michele Powers; a son, Gene Sclater and a step-son, Chris Grinnell; a sister, Betty Sclater; five grandchildren, Justin Sclater, Dylan Sclater, Caitlin Sclater, Ashley Powers and Kristin Powers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 26, Gwynn, Virginia 23066 or to your favorite charity.
