Christine Denise Munoz

Christine Denise Munoz, 75, of Tappahannock, Virginia, formerly of Avon, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Christine was born on August 20, 1950 to Theodore J. Kulesza and Dorothy A. Yarrish. She grew up in New Britain, Connecticut, and spent her childhood with her brother, Leonard Kulesza.

Christine's life passion was her loving family. She met her husband of 34 years, Cesar Munoz, in New Jersey, and was smitten by his humor, handiness, and smooth dance moves. Christine and Cesar were blessed with their son, Michael, in 1991, and she took pleasure in dedicating her time to his intellectual, spiritual, and athletic development.

She also pursued another of her greatest passions by studying animal sciences at Becker College, and deeply cared for all animals large or small. She continued to find joy in animals through retirement, adopting several dogs (Sonny, Rusty, Brady, and Bubba) and curating a thriving hummingbird garden.

She had a long career in the medical field, making lifelong friends along the way, and ultimately retired from the pharmacy department at UConn Medical Center in 2013.

Christine is survived by her husband, Cesar; her son, Michael, and his wife, MJ; her brother, Leonard Kulesza, and his wife, Bobi; her stepdaughter, Candida Jaquez; her step granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emely Jaquez; her puppy, Bubba, and extended family members and friends that she cared for deeply.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Faulkner Funeral Home, Marks-Bristow Chapel, 206 N. Church Lane, Tappahannock, VA, 22560.
