David Bristow

Dr. David Hall Bristow, 78, departed this life on June 29, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Christian Bristow and Olive Hall Bristow.

David is survived by his children; Talia Rose (Evey), Isabel Wilshire (Nick), Gabriel Bristow (Holly), and Christopher Bristow; his sister Jean Bristow Jordan; ex-wife, Allison Hendrick Bristow, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as his beloved dogs, Lucas, Sandy, and Maggie.

David was a graduate of Virginia Military Institute, where he was a member of the rifle team. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, his surgical degree from Vanderbilt University, his orthopedic degree from Duke University, and his hand fellowship from Johns Hopkins University. He proudly served his country as a captain in the United States Army.

David was an adventurous soul who spent much of his life following his passions wherever they took him. He will be remembered by friends and family for his love of history and his enthusiasm for outdoor activities. He will be missed for his long stories, his often-sly sense of humor, and his encompassing wealth of knowledge about the world.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on July 29,2023 at Middlesex Memorial Cemetery in Urbanna, VA.
