Deborah Ann Smith

Deborah Ann Smith, of Saluda, passed away on April 25, 2026. She was born May 27, 1955, in Arlington, Virginia to the late Clarence D. Smith and Eleanor Diehl Smith.

She was a graduate of Loudoun High School. She had many jobs throughout her life but her favorite was being a clerk at Weber pet store, being as she loved working with and rescuing all types of animals. She especially loved riding horses, going to church and being there to help her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Riggio; sister, Jenny Smith and nephew, Byron Daniel.

Deborah is survived by her son, Darren Smith (Lisa); grandson, Dylan Smith; brother, David Smith (Chessie); sister, Terry Allen (Gary); nieces, Jamie Sparks and Dina Plummer; nephew, Derek Nankivell.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on May 16, 2026, at the Smith family farm, 11075 Tidewater Trail, Saluda.
