Doris Mallory Lennon

Doris Mallory Lennon, 92, of Mathews, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026. She was born on June 26, 1933. She grew up in Hampton, VA where she met and married her love, Dr. William Kenneth Lennon, Sr. They enjoyed a blessed life of over 60 years together.

Doris was a known business woman in the community of Mathews County. She owned and operated Colonial Gift Shoppe, Squire Supermarket, and stood beside her husband in the operation of his long standing dental practice. Doris was a wonderful pianist where she could be heard playing hymns every Sunday morning at church. She loved gardening and the beauty of flowers.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Lennon, Sr.; her son, Darryl Mallory Lennon, and her sister, Audrey Mae Carter.

Doris is survived by her sons, William Kenneth Lennon, Jr. and wife, Barbara; Dr. Charles Bentley Lennon and wife, Vonda; her daughter, Melanie Lucretia Hall and husband, Roy. Her grandchildren are William Lennon; Tyler, Chandler, and Skyler (Elizabeth) Lennon; Heath Lennon (Alise) and Heather Lennon (Vinay); Vickie Gordon and Becca Hall; Amanda Holloway and Jeffery Wagoner. Her great grandchildren are Carl, Harper, Colton, Joslyn, Jordan, Tiya, and Tegan.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Chris Morgan will be held at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel of Mathews, VA on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive guests prior to the service from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. She will be laid to rest at Petsworth Baptist Church Cemetery 2471 Hickory Fork Road Gloucester, VA 23061.

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Riverside Foundation designated towards Hospice Care (donatenow.networkforgood.org/riverside) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation (alzfdn.org).

The family would like to thank every healthcare worker at Riverside-Warwick Forest (Evergreen, Piedmont, and Monticello) Memory Care for the wonderful love and care that they provided for our mother.
