Dorothy Elizabeth Dodson Didlake saw God’s face on November 16, 2015. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished her family. She was the oldest of five children born to Elizabeth and Raymond I. Didlake of Laneview, VA, in 1922. She was predeceased by her sisters Marjorie Clay, Gertrude Stevens, Anne Kirby, and her brother Ray Didlake. Dot was a longtime resident and active member of the Ringgold Community of Pittsylvania County, VA, before moving to the Richmond area in 1974. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Dodson Williams (Nelson) of Chesterfield, VA, and Joyce Dodson Weston (George) of Great Mills, MD. Also, “Memaw” leaves six grandchildren to cherish her memory. Dorothy found success in life through caring for her home and raising her two girls. “Dottie” will be fondly remembered for her cheerful spirit and her love of flowers. She was always surrounded by her “potted gardens” that she cared for all year long. A graveside memorial service will take place at Glebe Landing Baptist Church Cemetery in Laneview, VA, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00p.m. Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home of Saluda, VA, is servicing the family. In honor of her request to be cremated, her ashes are entered alongside her mother.
