Earlyne Warthan Glenn

Earlyne Cecilia Glenn, born March 5, 1951, passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 75.

Earlyne was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was found in the people she loved. A devoted mother to her own children, she also became a second mother to many of their friends who came through her door over the years. Her home was a place where people were welcomed, cared for, and treated like family.

Earlyne was the daughter of the late Earl R. Warthan and Frances D. Warthan and was preceded in death by her husband, Myrchas B. Glenn Sr. She leaves, to cherish her memory, her children Myrchas B. Glenn Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; Heather Lowe and her husband, Gary; and Frances Glenn; her grandchildren, Christopher Glenn, Catherine Lowe, and Mathew Lowe; and her sister, Debbie Gantt, with whom she shared a close and cherished relationship. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and the people they had become.

Earlyne was also a passionate sports fan. She was a lifelong, diehard Washington Commanders fan and loved NASCAR, cheering for Bill Elliott for many years and later his son, Chase Elliott. Whether it was football Sunday or race day, there was never much doubt about who Earlyne was pulling for.

To her family, Earlyne was much more than the names and dates that can be captured in an obituary. She was part of countless family stories, conversations, celebrations, traditions, and everyday moments that will now become treasured memories. Her life and influence continue through her children and grandchildren, and she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Earlyne's memory on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Middlesex County, Virginia. A reception for family and friends to gather in remembrance and celebration of Earlyne's life will be held after the Mass.
