Elizabeth Cole Sibley died on February 14, 2012 at Riverside Convalescent Center in Saluda, Va. Elizabeth was born on July 10, 1921 in Harmony Village, Va. and moved to Hartfield,Va. when she was a young girl. She resided in Hartfield on the Sibley family farm until 1967 when she moved to Urbanna, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents Clemmie Cole Major Sibley and Dennis Dutton Sibley and her older sister Marie Sibley Croom. Survivors include her nephew David Sibley Croom, his wife Janet Croom and her great nieces and great nephews Elizabeth Kathleen Croom, Major Croom, Christine Croom Baldwin, Charles Sibley Croom and their spouses James Baldwin and Jennifer Croom. Her great- great nieces and nephews are Bryan Baldwin, Emily Baldwin, Steven Croom and Carson Croom. Her adopted family includes Lois and Tony Brooks of Urbanna, Va. and their sons Daniel and Brent, as well as Cynthia Fleet Lewis of Hartfield.

A lifelong resident of Middlesex County, Va., Elizabeth was an honors graduate of Syringa High School class of 1939 and a lifelong member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring individual who always had a positive attitude, sunny disposition, and love for her family, her friends and her church and its Christian fellowship. She was blessed with a remarkable memory and sense of humor and unwavering devotion.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Saturday, February 25th in Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Topping. Interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
