Elmer “Junnie” Charnick, Jr., age 75, of Saluda, a retired Langley Air Force Base employee died Friday, March 16, 2012.  He formerly worked at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. and the City of Hampton.  He was predeceased by his son, Eric and is survived by his wife Patricia S. Charnick; sons, Wayne Charnick (Robin) of Warner, Odell Charnick (Amanda) of Shacklefords and David Charnick (Kathy) of Houma, LA; a sister, Elaine Henson and a brother, Ruppert Charnick, both of Phoebus; 7 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 4 step great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 22nd, at New Hope Baptist Church at Ark.  Interment Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Jamaica.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 21st, from 7-8 PM at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Saluda.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mrs. Patricia S. Charnick, 12935 Batt Rd., Saluda, VA  23149.  A reception will be held at the church following the service.
