Everette “Sonny” Holland Revere, 77, of Middlesex and Mathews, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
Sonny was born to the late L.P. Revere and Peggy Moss Revere of Topping on December 5, 1948.
Along with his parents, Sonny is preceded in death by his loving wife of 20 years, Linda Ruth Sadler Revere of Mathews, and his older sister Paula Ann Revere.
He is survived by his sisters, Jean Wray Bailey and Mary Pollard Allen (Richard); brother, John M. “Bunky” Revere (Sally); 5 nephews; 2 nieces, and his caretaker and friend Jeannie Bass.
Sonny was a graduate of Newport News Apprentice School, where he became an engineer. After working at the Shipyard, he moved on to the Mill at West Point, where he worked for 40-plus years, retiring at 72.
Sonny was a 50-year member of the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department and was Fire Chief for 20 of those years. He was always there to help his neighbors in any way he could. He was also a restorer of Ford Model A's, and he won many awards at shows.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, and will be officiated by his good friend, Ronnie Russell of Middlesex. Interment will follow in St. Paul Annex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the services at the funeral home.
