Francis Paul Blanock, Jr.

Francis Paul Blanock, Jr, 69, of Powhatan, VA, continued his journey to eternity on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born on September 23, 1956, in Mathews, Virginia, to Jane Diggs and Paul Blanock, Sr.

Growing up in Mathews, he acquired a love of the great outdoors at an early age. He became an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed many hunting adventures with his dad and friends. Francis graduated from Mathews High School in 1974 and continued many childhood friendships throughout his life. He was the shop Foreman at Luck Stone for 31 years, and he was highly respected there. He made many great friends through work and spent his time off on numerous camping, hunting, and fishing trips with his buddies. He is remembered by many for his jovial nature and the love and generosity he had for family, friends, and neighbors.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, parents, and his cherished wife, Ellen Lynch Blanock. Francis is survived by his sisters Lisa B. Kennedy (Mac), Amy Blanock Hudgins (Robert); nieces, Madeline Hudgins (John and sons Jordan and Jackson), Sarah Kennedy, Morgan H. Schultz (Jeff), Hannah Kennedy; great-niece, Rosie, and his beloved dog Moseley.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Pear Tree Cemetery in Onemo, VA. A Celebration of Life will follow at Williams Wharf Landing Pavilion from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
