Gary William Riedel, 65, of Port Haywood, Virginia passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Gary was born on March 7, 1958. He attended Penn State and did his apprenticeship at Newport News Shipbuilding where he was a supervisor/ instructor. He also worked as a welder instructor at Rappahannock Community College.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Riedel; two brothers, Donnie and Bobby Riedel and many nieces and nephews. He was very close with his nephew, Mike Riedel. He also remained close with two of his students who were like family to him, William Riley and Austin Gower.
A memorial service will be at a later date. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia is assisting the family.
