Gene Stephen McMahan

Gene Stephen McMahan, 77, of Tappahannock, Virginia, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 43 years, serving his last sixteen as the Postmaster at the Caret, Virginia Post Office. He was also a mason for 54 years, and was a member of the Arlington Lodge No. 102 in Millers Tavern, Virginia.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Arthur McMahan.
 
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Francis “Pete” McMahan; his sons, Anthony “Tony” McMahan (Carol), and Danny McMahan (Mel); his grandchildren, Blair, Brandon (Ali), and Brittany (Matt), and his great-grandchildren, Aurora, Aria, Ophie, and Landon.
 
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
