Gloria Garrison Vassar, 91, passed away at her beloved Riverhouse on November 18, 2025. Born to Carl E. Garrison and Beulah Haney Garrison on August 11, 1934, she grew up in Richmond VA. A graduate of John Marshal High School, she attended graduate school while working with The Red Cross. Her career as a real estate paralegal began at Mays and Valentine law firm, now Troutman Pepper Locke, in Richmond, from where she retired after 47 years of service.
Gloria loved boating and water skiing, playing cards and spending time with family and close friends. An independent woman, she lived alone, always on her own terms. She loved her dogs, Sandy and Honey, ever present in her retirement years.
Preceded in death by her parents and Brother, Carl E. Garrison II, she is survived by her son Warren Vassar, grandchildren Katie Slavey, Jennifer Vassar, Kristine Madu, and Heather Vassar and her great grandchildren Alexis Vassar, Amber Slavey, Junior Slavey, Graham Madu, and Arabella Schrader.
A graveside service is to be held at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond at 12 PM on December 10, 2025.
