James Lawrence Stokes

James (Jimmy) L. Stokes, age 83, of Tappahannock, VA, passed away Sunday morning. He was a true Tappahannock man who farmed the fields for 30 years, then worked for Levi Manufacturing for 35 years more.

He is survived by his wife Janice Stokes and three sisters Laura, Mary, and Blanch.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and was a fine hunter and outstanding fisherman by knowing where the fish would bite.

We will miss him greatly, his southern manners, and friendly smile. The family will celebrate his life with a family meeting in Tappahannock, his home sweet home.
