Jean Isobel Steel

Jean Isobel Steel, 86, of Deltaville, VA, was promoted to higher service on Monday, January 26, 2026. She left this earth peacefully, surrounded by her family at home.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Gunnard Wallace Steel; son, Paul Steel (Renee); daughter, Melanie Thompson (John); grandchildren, Jason Steel (Cassie), Caleb Steel (Kenisha), Aiden Thompson (Ivy), Caroline Thompson; great-grandchildren, Clark, Emme Jo, Ethan and Addison; and siblings, Edward Walker (Elaine) and Christopher Walker (Eileen), and a sister in law, Ann Harwood.

Originally from Whickham in the northeast of England, Jean and Thomas, along with their children, moved to the United States in 1981 to pastor in North Carolina and Virginia. She ministered alongside her husband for 44 years.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews.
