Julian Orrell

Reverend Julian S. Orrell, age 90, of Fishersville, Va. died on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Rev. Orrell was born November 18, 1924 to Ira and Elsie Orrell of Pittsylvania, Va. Rev. Orrell had a Bachelor of Arts from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va.; a Bachelor of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va. and a Master of Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. He was a Pastor of Ivor and Millfield Baptist Churches in Southhampton for four years; Berryville Baptist in Clarke County for thirteen years; Gwynn's Island Baptist in Mathews for thirteen years; Vesuvius Baptist in Rockbridge for four years; North Run Baptist in Richmond for two years and Ridge Baptist also in Richmond. He had many overseas missions including South Africa, Hong Kong, England and New Zealand. Rev. Orrell was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew S. Crittenden. Rev. Orrell enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, photography, travel, golf and fishing. He is survived by his wife Eleanor C. Orrell of Fishersville, Va., daughters, Frances Vest and Nancy Leake and son, Ira Thomas Orrell; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rev. Orrell is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Dodd and Glenna Bennett.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 7-8 pm at Gwynn's Island Baptist Church, Gwynn, Va. His funeral will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2015 also at Gwynn's Island Baptist Church. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
