Lillian Kemp Hudgins

Lillian Kemp Hudgins, 92, of Mathews, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Riverside-Walter Reed Hospital. She worked as a full-time cafeteria manager from 1969 to 1999 at Mathews High School and also worked part-time at the school after she retired.

She is survived by her children, Hudson Hudgins, James Curtis Hudgins, Darlene Shaw, Judy Jackson and Frances Evanson; grandchildren, Paul Hudgins, Amber Grinnell, Tammy Hudgins, J. R. Hudgins, Kimberly Hubbard, Willie Jackson, Jason Jackson, Kasey Hudgins and Zachary Prillaman; 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Salem Methodist Church followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Milford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to Mathew’s Meals on Wheels, c/o Nelda Gibbs, P.O. Box 369, Mathews, Virginia 23109. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews is assisting the Hudgins family.
