Lloyd Francis Cox, 81, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.
Lloyd was known as “The Legend of Trucking”. He spent over 50 years driving and doing what he loved up until his last day. His favorite run was going I-95 to Miami.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, enjoyed playing golf, and he loved watching his grandchildren play their favorite sports.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his daughter Stacie. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy; son, Lloyd “Skip” Cox; daughter, Mitzi Thomas; grandchildren, Hunter, Corey, Caleb, Stacie, and Cayden; and great grandchildren, Nova and Kai.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Nazarene, Hudgins, Virginia. Reception will follow at the church. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia is assisting the family.
