In Loving Memory of Mary Chenery Gregory
July 31,1957 – August 27, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Chenery Gregory, a devoted wife, cherished mother, grandmother and aunt, who departed this world at the age of 68
Mary was the heart of her family. A talented quilter and crafter. Mary expressed her love through fiber arts. She shared her love of quilting and sewing with anyone who wanted to learn. Through volunteerism, She created items for charities and her church. She especially loved making quilts for our nations military hero’s through the Quilts of Valor organization. Her home was adorned with beautiful handmade quilts—each one stitched with patience and joy, often gifted to family and friends as treasured keepsakes. Her crafting room was her sanctuary, and her creations will live on as tangible memories.
She had a gift for making others feel welcome. Mary brought light and comfort to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John Gregory, her daughter, Maribeth Singleton (Michael), and her grandchildren Brantley and Braelynn. Her siblings, Elizabeth Chenery, Jim Chenery (Linda) and Richard Chenery III. Her nieces and nephews, EA Whitfield Saliba (Yahya Ahmad), Peter Saliba, Ann Gapper (Stuart), Winston Chenery (Cary) and Taylor Chenery (Carrie). She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m at Faulkner Funeral Home, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, Virginia.
