Mary Ellen Powell

Mary Ellen Powell, 92, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehab-Mathews, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade H. Powell; her parents, Harim and Leona Weatherford; and a daughter, Teresa Powell.

Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter, Lynne Davenport (Joe); and a grandson, Sean Powell.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund, P.O. Box 26, Gwynn, Virginia 23066, or to the Gwynn’s Island Civic League, P.O. Box 313, Gwynn, Virginia 23066. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
