Mildred L. Coates, 85, of Tappahannock, Virginia, took the hand of her Savior and stepped into eternity on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She was a long-time member of Ephesus Baptist Church, the Jennie Clarkson Circle, and the XYZ Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music and taking rides.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Davis Langford and Willie E. Langford; her husbands, Cecil F. Marks and George E. Coates; sisters, Margaret A. Gibson, and Catherine L. Akers; and one brother, Edward S. Langford.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Pamala A. Marks-Hobson (Howard L. Hobson “Jeep,”) grandchildren, Joshua Elim Hobson and Christian Faith Hobson; one brother, Elton J. Langford (Cathy); one sister, Betty Lou Hogge (Carroll Jr.); and several other nieces and nephews. She was a special Auntie to C. Michael Langford.
 
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church Dunnsville, Virginia. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, Virginia is assisting the family with arrangements.
