Philip Crowder

Philip A. “Phil” Crowder, 76, of Urbanna, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. He was retired from Anthem, Department of Information Technology. He was a member of Urbanna Baptist Church, Urbanna Masonic Lodge #83 A.F. & A.M., Urbanna Creek Yacht Club and the Piankatank River Golf Club.

Phil was a loving husband to Joyce S. “Joy” Crowder for 55 years; also survived by nephews and nieces who were like his children: Curtis Ray Crowder, Jr. (Nellie), Christopher Todd Crowder (Sarah); nieces, Catherine Crowder Weaver (Michael), and Elizabeth Paige Crowder; great nieces and nephews; Ray, Khi, Riley, Nadia, Ryan, and Freya. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, William Allen Crowder and Curtis Ray Crowder.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda which will include a Masonic Memorial Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Urbanna Fire Department, Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad, Urbanna Baptist Church or Gloucester/Mathews Humane Society. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Commonwealth Assisted Living in Kilmarnock for their care.
