Richard "Dick" Byrne

Richard Thomas Byrne “Dick”, 79, of Tappahannock, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025. He was a Physics Teacher at Stafford Senior High School, and retired as an Assistant Principal at Spotsylvania Career and Technical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mabel Byrne.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Byrne; his daughter, Christine A. Donahue (Mike); his sons, Richard T. Byrne “Rick” (Ann), Timothy A. Byrne (Sarah), and Sean P. Byrne (Megan); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Tappahannock on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, and a reception will be held after the service at the church.
