Robert Henry “Bob” Pratt, Colonel, United States Army (Ret.), 93, of Deltaville, VA, passed away peacefully from complications of lung disease at his home on September 1, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends.

Bob was born in Ridge, MD, on August 26, 1933, to George William Pratt and Hattie Elizabeth Pratt (Naumann), and was the seventh of ten children born to George and Hattie. Bob served proudly in the United States Army for more than three decades, retiring at the rank of full Colonel. In retirement, Bob enjoyed boating, fishing, and golfing with his family and friends made around the world. Though he will be deeply missed, Bob’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Janice Pratt. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, George William “Bill” Jr, Steven Mark, Edwin Louis Sr, and James Irving “Tinks”; and his sisters, Hattie Anita, Alice Adelaide, and Agnes Lorrine “Jimmie”.

He is survived by his five children, Murray Anthony Mack (Sue) of St. Cloud, MN; James Randall (Jane) of Chesterfield, VA; Chrystina Gayle (Rod) of Milton, DE; Pamela Jean (Glen) of Hyrum, UT; and David Ashlar (Aly) of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Mary Thelma “Snooky” (James) of Ridge, MD; Salinda Mae of Ridge, MD; and sister-in-law, Audrey Regina Cullison of Ridge, MD. Bob has 7 grandchildren, Dana Cousins, Spencer Mack, Madison Clemens, Emily Knoke, Trevor Pratt, Reilly Pratt, Ashlar Pratt, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.

Three services will be held to celebrate Bob’s life. The funeral will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at St. Mary’s Chapel in Ridge, MD, at 12pm, followed by a luncheon at the Ridge American Legion. The following day, Friday, September 11, 2026, a viewing will be held from 2-4pm at the Bristow-Faulkner Chapel in Saluda, VA. Bob will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
