Roland John Bowman

Roland Bowman, 74, of Moon, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2026 after a short illness. Roland was born on February 9, 1951 to Donald and Josephine Bowman. He was an accomplished musician and he played in the Navy band, and he also played the piano and guitar for the Church of Francis de Sales in Mathews.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Bowman, and his mother, Josephine Dougher.

He was survived by his daughter, Shannon, and a son, Isaac, both of Kentucky, and his sisters, Lillian, Mary, and Lisa.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Church of Francis de Sales, Mathews, Virginia. A funeral service will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow in Milford Cemetery, Moon, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Francis de Sales, 176 Lovers Lane, Mathews, Virginia 23109, or to your favorite charity. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
