Ronald Eugene Woodard

Ronald Eugene Woodard "Ron", 64, of Tappahannock, VA was called to his heavenly home June 2,2024. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.

Born October 14, 1959 and raised in Abingdon VA, he was a proud graduate of Patrick Henery High School in Glade Spring. He worked in the nursing home for many years caring for the elderly until he found his true calling in the food service profession with many specialties.

In 1999 he moved to Tappahannock and became involved with his partner at The Essex Florist, where he loved working with the people and the flowers. His preference was contemporary and high style design. He was involved with the Virginia Professional Florist Association. He then combined his passion for flowers and food by catering many special events for the community. Everything he did, he did with love.

He is survived by his soulmate, best friend, and true love of 25 years, LeRoy Hayden; daughters, Kristin "Krissy" Hill, Brittany Woodard Hamilton (Barry); granddaughter, Kaitlynn Woodard; grandson, Shia Woodard Hamilton; sister, Darlene Tolbert (Bill); niece, Tracy Tolbert both of Blountville, TN, and lastly his beloved fur baby and sidekick, Smokey Joe.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Faulkner-Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock. Interment will follow at Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the funeral home.
