Rosie Estelle McKenney

Rosie Estelle McKenney, 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1934, in Westmorland and raised in Hudgins, Virginia, before moving to Cobbs Creek, where she, along with her brother, Leroy, grew a beautiful, productive vegetable garden. She provided lawn care and also sold firewood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margie Evans McKenney and Lewis Edward McKenney; her brothers, Lewis, Edward, and William; her sisters, Elizabeth, Ruby, Pearl; and her loving niece, Brenda Callis.

She is survived by her brother, Leroy, and many nieces and nephews, including her loving nephew, Jesse Fariss, who supported her in her last years. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and providing help and advice to anyone in need. In her later years, she took great joy in assisting with the Food Bank and Living Waters Church.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Virginia. A reception will follow at Living Waters Church in Dutton. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews is assisting the family.
