Sally Christopher Acree

Sally Christopher Acree raised generations of our family. We never doubted for a moment that she loved us fiercely and absolutely. Her children: Cabell, Sara (Jeff), Chris, and Will (Leslie). Her grandchildren: Ligon (Ryan), Corbin (Travis), Neely, Ellie, and Bea. Her great-grandchildren: Sally, Jane, and Julian. She adored children. She lived next door to her daughter, and two of her granddaughters spent their childhood running back and forth from her home. When her great-granddaughters were born, she moved to Florida for three years to help raise them, a time that she said was one of the happiest in her life. Sally’s namesake, Sally Corbin, still has a bit of her great-grandmother’s southern accent. Sally died on October 21, 2026, an exceptionally beautiful day that she spent strolling and going out to brunch with family. Her sister Mary had just visited a couple of days before, and Sally loved looking at pictures of Mary and her brother John’s grandchildren. Those of you who knew Sally will not be surprised that she is snubbing tradition and left instructions to not hold any service.
