Shelvia Jean Whittaker

WHITTAKER, Shelvia Jean, 78, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late William and Virginia Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert N. Whittaker and daughter, Lisa W. Walters.

At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and never missed an opportunity to share how richly God had blessed her with her 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and Kong, her cherished canine “baby”. All who were the light of her life.

She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Rhonda W. Todd and husband, Roger, and Sue W. Snyder; grandchildren: Shanna DuBose (Seth), Jason Walters, Ashley Todd, Melissa Zingo (Jeffrey), Shannon Todd and Ashley Snyder; great grandchildren: Aiden, Kayleigh, Shelby, Elyssia, Daniel and Aria; 1 sister; 3 brothers, honorary daughters; Wanda Proffitt and Lisa Vaught; a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7 at the Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock. Interment will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery.
