Silvio Anthony "Tony" Robusto
October 24, 1925 - June 6, 2026
Tony was 100 and born in Baltimore, MD where he lived prior to marrying Ann Wagner. He was one of thirteen children.
Enlisted in the US Army at age 18 during WW2 in 1944, entered Japan, among the first US Army occupation forces for the stabilization/reconstruction after Japan's surrender.
Honorably discharged as Tech Sergeant at age 20. As an Army Reservist, he was reactivated during the Korean Conflict and assigned to a base in Maryland. He received training as auto mechanic through GI Bill, retired from Baltimore County with 30 years as auto mechanic/tow truck operator in Baltimore County. He received special recognition from Baltimore County administration.
After retirement, he and his wife, Ann, lived in Tappahannock, VA., then relocated to Urbanna, VA.
He was known for stories describing time in the US Army during and after WWII and singing old songs and hymns he learned in church as a child. He was quick with funny, sometimes awkward comments, that were meant to bring a smile. He greatly appreciated those who lent him a hand and commonly thanked them profusely for their kind words and actions.
He is predeceased by his wife Ann, his sons, Michael and Stephen, his siblings Romeo, Giovanni, Robert, Julius, Walter, Antoinette, Jean, Mary Lou, June, Joan and Grace.
Tony is survived by his son, Dr. James Robusto (Kerry) and grandchildren Kelsey, Ann, and Marcia (Michael).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
