It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Stanley Keith Griffith, at the age of 74, who passed away on October 11, 2025.
Born on September 27, 1951, in Beckley, West Virginia, Stanley was the second of five children born to Samuel and Lena Griffith. In the early 1970s, Stanley moved to Richmond, Virginia, where he met and shortly married the love of his life, Dora S. Griffith. They shared a simple yet deeply loving life together, raising their two daughters, Suzanna and Tammy. Stanley was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Dora, after 54 years of marriage.
A quiet, yet incredibly hardworking man, Stanley built a career on dedication and loyalty. He was a longtime employee of Ukrops' Supermarket, where he retired from. Not one to sit still, he embarked on a second career as a long-haul truck driver, traveling up and down the East Coast. He eventually permanently retired after working as a machinist for Graphic Packaging.
In his free time, Stanley loved staying busy and could often be found under the hood of a car or truck. He enjoyed fishing, going to flea markets, and admiring old cars, especially the classic 1959 Cadillacs. Stanley will be remembered for exemplifying the value of hard work and complete simplicity in life.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Suzanna (Romeo) Cuellar and Tammy Griffith ( Adin ) . Stanley took immense pride and thoroughly admired his five grandchildren: Shayne, Caitlan, Fredy, Jeremy, and Alena, whom he was dedicated to raising as his own children, ensuring they had whatever they needed. He especially enjoyed hearing stories from his only great-grandson, 9-year-old Lucas.
Stanley is also survived by his two brothers, Ben Griffith and Terrence (Orrie) Griffith, and two sisters, Neva Neal and Tina (Daniel) Richmond, all residing in West Virginia.
His final resting place will be at Upper Essex Baptist Church in Caret, Virginia. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel is assisting the family.
