Daniel Carlton

Stephen Daniel Carlton, 88, of Hartfield, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Daniel retired from Chesapeake Corporation in West Point, Virginia. He was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View.

Daniel was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Connie Thrift Carlton; a grandson, Cody; granddaughter, Christy; and two brothers, Raymond and Jeff. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, David Kirby, and a step-grandson, Caleb.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Gresham Carlton; his children, Janet Winebarger (Mike), Barbara Shaw (Jeff), Stephen D. Carlton, Jr.; one grandson, Ryan Payne (Antoinette) and one great-granddaughter, Sophie; and two sisters, Charlotte Bristow and Catherine Tyson. He is also survived by stepdaughters Donna Garnett (Nathan) and Cathy Kirby; and five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Hermitage Baptist Church Cemetery, Church View.
