Tyler Gillispie

d. Jul 10, 2026

Honoring the Life of Tyler Tyler Gillispie was called home to the Lord on July 10, 2026. He left behind a family forever changed by his light. Tyler was a man of bright laughter, quiet depth, and immense love. To the world, he was a natural joker, always ready with a quick wit to make others laugh, even while gently carrying his own pain. But those who were closest to him knew, beneath the humor lay a profoundly thoughtful, compassionate soul who loved his family with everything he had. His capacity for empathy extended to all living things. When no one else would, Tyler adopted Oadie, a deaf pitbull. Oadie needed a patient, caring home and Tyler gave him exactly that, forming a bond built on unconditional love. Tyler was athletic and fearless. He proudly served his country as an infantryman in the Army National Guard. He had a deep passion for the game of golf and loved his “office” in the golfing community of Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Tyler’s vibrant spirit and humor were a direct reflection of his tight-knit, lively, and incredibly loving family. While our hearts are shattered and the silence he leaves behind feels impossible to fill, we are endlessly grateful for the 38 years we were blessed to love him, and for the strength of the family that surrounds him still. Left to cherish the memory of this beautiful soul are his mother, Maggie Carlson (Bill), his father, Todd Gillispie, his brother, LTC Chris Gillispie (Tamara), two stepsisters; Melanie (Chris), and Kelley, his great nephew, Noah, and a huge family of aunts, uncles and cousins, who will miss him with every fiber of their being. He has now found peace and is reunited with his beloved grandparents, cousins, and his faithful companion, Oadie. Rest in peace, Tyler. You are loved beyond measure. Viewing will be on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Church of The Visitation in Topping, VA followed by a mass at 11 o’clock.
