Virginia Diggs Ball

Virginia Diggs Ball, 95, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehab-Mathews. Virginia was born on October 3, 1929 to John Grayson and Willie Mae Diggs. She was a member of Bethel Church of Mathews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burley C. Ball, Sr.; a daughter, Lynn Gravelle, and a son, Burley Clayton Ball, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Louis Ball (Diane); daughter-in-law, Joanna Ball; son-in-law, Everett Gravelle; grandchildren, Jennifer Meadows, Daniel Ball, Jason Ball, Jessica Behmke, Rebecca Ball, Carlton Stoots and Mechele Halder; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ball, Madison Ball and Jasper Meadows.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Church of Mathews, Onemo, Virginia. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Pear Tree Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Church of Mathews, c/o Nancy Rowe, P.O. Box 1104, Mathews, Virginia 23109.
