Wayne Harvey Courtney, born March 19, 1940, departed this life on March 9, 2023 at his home in Dunnbrooke.
Wayne was an avid hunter his entire life. As a young man, he could be found on the race tracks. He was an auto mechanic by trade. However, there was nothing he could not fix.
Wayne is survived by his “girl”, Thelma Courtney, they walked this Earth hand in hand for 44 years; two brothers, PC Courtney and Mack Courtney (Bonnie); son, Paul Hodges (Jamie); daughter, Danielle Tallent (Heath); seven grandchildren, Ashley Hundley, Brandon Hodges (Patricia), Amber Hundley, Katey Lewis, Heather Belcher (Wesley), Alexis Walker and Courtney Hodges (Jiree); and nine great-grandchildren, Ayden, Nicholas, Levi, Jaliyah, Deacon, Emerson, Aubriella, Willow and Wynter. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Jimmy Elliott.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Dunnbrooke VA. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel is assisting the family.
