William "Jim" Bobbitt

September 28, 1957 — June 2, 2025

William “Jim” Bobbitt, born September 28, 1957, of Caret, Virginia, passed away on June 2, 2025 at McGuire VA Medical Center. He was raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed playing the Mandolin and Guitar, with many bluegrass icons and friends.

He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was honored to serve with brothers and sisters in arms, keeping in touch with as many as possible and enjoyed a good long conversation with his family, friends, and anyone that stood still too long. He was also crazy about his dog, Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ricky Lee and Lonnie Bobbitt; father, Lonnie Jack Bobbitt; and sister, Tina James.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Janet Bobbitt; his devoted wife, Carol Bobbitt; brother, Wayne Bobbitt; sisters, Tasha James, Monique James; daughter, Jessica Gomez; son-in-law, Danny Gomez; grandchildren, Mia and Danny Gomez, daughter, Denise Raynor; son-in-law, David Raynor; grandson, Evan; and son, Cody and family; stepsons, John Leonard, Mark Leonard; daughter-in-law, Cindy; and grandchildren, Mark Jr., Jemma and Jase; niece, Kaitlyn; nephew, Kris Bobbitt, and great-niece, Lia.

Burial will be at Quantico National Cemetery on September 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with military honors. He touched so many and will be greatly missed and loved forever.
