William Robert Crowe

William Robert Crowe, known affectionately as Bill, of Onemo, passed away at the age of 84 on May 25, 2026, Memorial Day. Bill was born on June 15, 1941 in Escondido, Calif. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy M. Crowe, and a brother, Bobby Crowe. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lee Crowe (Duffy) of 45 years who was his best co-pilot in life. Bill is survived by a sister, Kathleen (Kitty) Crowe, and brothers, Mick and Linda Crowe, Scott and Chris Crowe, Gary and Stacey Crowe; Bill’s children, Kelly Seo (Lashley Seo), Robert Crowe and Jan-Eric Nimsch, Scott and Amanda Crowe (Darien, Corbin, Cameron, Scott, William), Mark and Shannon (Ian, Madeline, Aidan); stepchildren, Stacey McCarty (Kenneth and Krystal, Jeanette), Steve and Lanette Beebe (Lauren and Phil, Lilah, Jacob), and great-grandchildren.

Bill proudly served over five years in the USMC as a helicopter pilot who was active in Vietnam. Bill was a member of Christ Church Kingston Episcopal Parish. He flew for TWA for 30 years until he retired in 1996. Bill loved family trips to OBX beaches and he and Duffy visited beaches around the world. He assisted with Meal On Wheels delivery for over 20 years. He enjoyed boating and jet skiing on Winter Harbor, as well as trips to their Overlook Mountain cabin. Bill worked in his retirement on a Low Earth Orbit device and he owns a patent for this invention.

The family would like to express gratitude to the care team of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and Cancer Center with a great radiation and oncology staff of doctors and nurses that took care of Bill. The family thanks Ties That Bond home care team and the Hospice care team.
